User Mode Linux
User Mode Linux (UML) is a Linux kernel running on top of a "host" Linux
system instead of real hardware. It can be used to accelerate development
processes, test software automatically, consolidate servers, create
honeypot systems, etc.
This course introduces the UML concept and explains how to use it. The
operation of UML will be exercised by means of many practical examples.
The potential and limits of UML will be explored. Various UML tools will
be discussed.
Audience: Developers and advanced system/network admistrators
Prerequisits: Solid Linux and administration skills including networking.
Optionally: knowledge of the Perl, Tcl, or C programming languages.
